EMILIO LUSTAU DON NUO DRY OLOROSO NV EMILIO LUSTAU DON NUÑO DRY OLOROSO NV

A rich concentrated wine which is classically dry with hints of sweetness, its amber gold colour and flavours of rich bitter chocolate and baked chestnuts leave an intense lingering aftertaste. Awarded the Sherry Trophy at the IWC 2004 and Gold Medals in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

VINEYARD
Bodegas Emilio Lustau was founded in 1896 and currently owns 220 hectares of vines, with one vineyard in one in Chipiona and one in Montegilillo, to the north and north-east of Jerez de la Frontèra respectively
All the soils are the classic albariza of Jerez

GRAPE VARIETIES
100% Palomino Fino

VINIFICATION
The grapes are harvested in early September and only the free run juice is used. The must then undergoes temperature controlled fermentation before being fortified in preparation to the ageing process.

The wine is then aged in a traditional solera where the wine slowly oxidises and picks up its distinctive rich and nutty character.

TASTING NOTE
Deep amber in colour with a complex nutty nose. Rich and concentrated on the palate with dried fruit, bitter chocolate, orange peel and a rich nutty finish. A great aperitif but could be matched with food - maybe a rich chicken dish or blue cheese?
